Hi Everyone this is my first blog on Pega. Through
this blog my objective is to give brief information about Pega.
Main highlights that I covered are: -

Before starting our journey with Pega, we need to first understand some prerequisites that will help us to understand the Pega.
What is a low code platform?
Low code platform provides an environment for developing application using form-based methodologies. We can create business applications quickly using low code platform. As we only need to place our logic in low code platforms, and it will write code for you.
What is BPM methodology?
BPM stands for business process management. Every
business consists of several processes through which they generate business
values and serve their customer. BPM is a structured approach which manages
business processes by analyzing the current processes and preparing models for
different scenarios, implementing changes, monitoring the new processes and
continuously improving its ability to drive desired business outcome and
result.
What is Process?
Process is a unit of work that can be completed either
by acceptance or rejection.
What is Pega?
Pega is a powerful low-code platform that builds agility into the world's leading organizations so they can adapt to change. Pega is a leading BPM {Business Process Management} tool for developing enterprise applications and intranet applications.
So basically, intranet applications are accessible only inside organization network to its employee.
Pega is a ‘NO CODE’ application development software where as other technologies like ‘Java’, ‘python’ etc. We need to write code. Pega is java based “Business Process Management tool”
Pega provides a visual environment
for developing application, in which user don’t need to type code for
developing application. We use Pega OOTB (Out Of The Box) {Pega built in
functionalities}, graphical controls and our business logic for developing our
application.
Pega world is continuously growing with changing business needs. Pega scope is not just limited to developing enterprise applications or intranet applications. We can also use Pega for robotic automation purpose, for developing AI driven models and data driven models.
Pega software is owned and managed by Pega systems.
Pegasystems Inc. is an American software company based in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Founded in 1983, Pegasystems develops software for customer relationship management (CRM) and business process management (BPM).The company has been publicly traded since 1996 as PEGA (NASDAQ).
Pega provides Pega PRPC (Pega rule process commander) is a Pega software. Pega PRPC is a strong platform for building and deploying the BPM, CRM, Decision Management and Case Management Application.
System Requirements for installing Pega
Minimum system requirements for installing Pega in
your system :-
- Windows Operating System.
- Minimum 8 GB RAM.
- Intel(R) Core(TM) i3.
- System type 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor.
Pega PRPC Environment Overview
Let’s take a look of Pega Application, how it looks
and feel. Anyone one can download Pega latest version (trial version) from Pega
Official site www.pega.com
After we successfully install Pega in our system. It creates 3 icons in our desktop screen.
Second icon is for login. After Pega server get started successfully. We need to click on Login icon, so that we can login into our PRPC (Pega rule process commander) environment.
The third icon is for server shutdown. After completing our work on Pega PRPC (Pega rule process commander), we need to properly close Pega server on our local machine.
When we start our Pega server and double click on Pega Login icon. We redirect to below screen.
This is our Pega PRPC (Pega rule process commander) login screen. The default credential provided by Pega systems are :-
Username:- administrator@pega.com
Password:- install
After filling login credentials and hitting login button we redirect to below screen.
Pega PRPC provides an integrated environment for Business Analysts, Developer’s, System Administrators, data scientists and AI/ML engineers.
For each mentioned role above Pega provides 4
different studios :-
- App Studio
- Dev Studio
- Admin Studio
- Prediction Studio
Dev Studio - This
studio is basically for Pega developers. Dev studio provides robust features to
address complex business requirements.
Developers manage security, versioning, and source control of
application using dev studio.
Admin Studio - Admin studio
is used by System Administrators.
Admin Studio give access to run-time information and
configuration options for the resources that you create in Dev Studio.
Prediction Studio
Prediction Studio is the dedicated workspace for data
scientists to control the life cycles of advanced analytics models. The model
types available in Prediction Studio are predictive models, text models, and
self-learning adaptive models.
We can say Pega is a low code application development software for building robust software's for changing business needs. But for creating a production ready application one should have strong concepts of Object-Oriented Programming.
